Remediation activities include the completion of the site investigation, evaluation of additional remedial options, groundwater monitoring, and will likely include deed restrictions. Investigations in the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s identified a variety of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and other organics in soil and groundwater. In 2010, additional groundwater investigation was performed at the property and Light Non-Aqueous Phase Liquid (LNAPL) was discovered in one monitoring well. Under approval of the MDEQ, a passive remediation effort was implemented at the well. A groundwater monitoring program has been initiated. Work is being performed under Part 201 under the oversight of MDEQ.
