Statement from RACER Trust Regarding Donation of Land to City of Anderson, IN

RACER Trust is pleased to announce the donation of several parcels of land to the City of Anderson for continued use as a recreational resource. The donation includes Crawford Field, the longtime home of Anderson Babe Ruth Baseball, near the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and West 25th Street, and Belmont Park, at the intersection of Dewey Avenue and West 29th Street.

Both Crawford Field and Belmont Park have been enjoyed by generations of Anderson residents, and RACER Trust is pleased to make this gift to the City for the continued benefit of the community. These recreational parcels are located on the periphery of the vacant “Delphi 1” property, formerly used in automotive-related manufacturing by General Motors.

The transfer of these parcels is expected to be completed in February.

RACER Trust is continuing to aggressively pursue redevelopment for the remainder of the 143-acre former Delphi 1 facility. We thank Mayor Kevin Smith and his administration for their partnership and support and look forward to a successful outcome in our quest to attract new investment and jobs for Anderson.
