Former RACER Property Converted to Riverside Community Park in Saginaw, MI
RACER Trust was pleased to join Saginaw County Parks and Recreation, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, The Nature Conservancy and other project partners for a celebratory groundbreaking for the new Saginaw River Headwaters Rec Area in Saginaw, MI.
The urban waterfront park, 334 acres that for nearly 100 years supported heavy manufacturing, welcomes hikers, wildlife watchers, anglers and others who are looking for an outdoors experience minutes from downtown Saginaw.
RACER’s redevelopment and cleanup teams worked diligently to position and prepare the property for reuse. We thank the many individuals and organizations whose work resulted in the creation of a community asset that can be enjoyed by all. We’re grateful as well for the invitation to our Trustee, Elliott Laws, to deliver remarks at the groundbreaking ceremony.
