Carl Garvey Named General Counsel of RACER Trust

 

DETROIT — Carl Garvey has been named General Counsel of RACER Trust, effective today. Mr. Garvey previously served RACER as a Deputy General Counsel and Acting General Counsel.


His duties at RACER include providing legal guidance and advice on all Trust activities; engaging with outside counsel and federal, Tribal, state and local regulators on real property, environmental remediation and permitting issues; and providing legal counsel related to remediation consulting; construction and demolition; and machinery and equipment auctions, sales and removals.

Prior to joining RACER in November 2011, Mr. Garvey served for more than 20 years as an attorney for the U.S. EPA, primarily as Superfund enforcement counsel at EPA Headquarters and for EPA Region 2 in New York.
