This former GM manufacturing plant has been transformed into the Salina Industrial PowerPark. The property sits on approximately 69.08 acres and includes a nearly 827,000 square-foot facility, of which 180,000 square feet of space currently remains available for lease. There are approximately a dozen tenants in the remainder of the facility, including Bitzer Scroll Inc., a manufacturer of air conditioning and refrigeration compressors; Carpenter Industries, Inc., which performs abrasive blasting, welding and fabrications; and Klein Steel Service.

Numerous environmental investigations have been conducted at the property, a nearby wetland and the nearby Ley Creek, to evaluate soil, groundwater, surface water and sediment conditions. Based on these studies, underground hydraulic oil sumps and tanks have been abandoned or removed, a groundwater remediation system has been installed, contaminated soils have been removed and a storm water collection and treatment system has been installed. Material has been removed from a former disposal area, which was subsequently capped, and a mitigation system was installed in the building to eliminate the potential for vapor intrusion in parts of the building. RACER now is evaluating additional cleanup activities, including enhancement of the groundwater collection system and improvements to the existing sub-slab depressurization system.
