Within a quarter-mile of the intersection of Interstates 275 and 96, this 116-acre property sits on the western edge of Livonia, about 24 miles northwest of Detroit. The buildings were removed from the site in 2001, though concrete slabs remain on the property, which is zoned industrial.

Environmental Progress
After several investigations and interim measures, an environmental remediation plan was approved by EPA to recover and treat groundwater at the property. The system addresses historic groundwater impacts for both this site and a smaller adjacent parcel that had also been part of the Delco Chassis plant property. Ongoing operation and maintenance of the groundwater recovery and treatment system will continue. In addition, a slurry wall installed around approximately 20 acres encloses the groundwater recovery system and adjacent property. Deed restrictions have been placed on the property, and the site is expected to receive a RCRA “Corrective Action Complete with Controls” status. Further evaluation is in progress southeast of the site where a narrow plume of groundwater impacted by TCE has migrated. Work is being performed under the RCRA Corrective Action program under the oversight of EPA.
