The property has a post-closure care permit from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) pursuant to the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) that may severely limit any future use. The majority of the site is surrounded by a subsurface slurry wall that must remain and has a RCRA composite cap, including a high-density polyethylene layer that cannot be disturbed. Monitoring wells are located on the surface impoundment and outside slurry wall to monitor groundwater elevations and contaminant concentrations in the groundwater.
